ELECTRICITY MERCHANTS
At 16 cent per kilowatt-hour, we are presently the most cost-effective electricity company in Liberia
Jamba village, Kwendin, Gboanipea and Sorlumba rural villages of Liberia, Geshora of Rwanda and the Ashanti village of Ohwimase in Ghana shares something in common; they are all rural off-grid communities without hope of getting grid-grade electricity in the next ten years; yet are all enjoying electricity from HV WoodGas minigrid. HV WoodGas Inc. makes electricity using agricultural waste of expired trees and agricultural wastes as fuel.
Our power house employs a broad range of power generation systems of which chief is the biomass steam turbines that uses energy from waste woods to heat up a boiler, thus using the compressed high pressure steam within the boiler system to drive electromechanical shaft that generates electricity. Other power generation methods that supports our mini-grid system includes solar, crude palm oil generator and gasifier.
All Power Labs, USADF, Swedish Embassy Liberia and AECF has all played critical roles in supporting HV WoodGas Technology achieve great milestones, especially with respect to rural areas that traditional investors would have never dared to thread. We shall forever appreciate everyone that has in one way or the other helped in putting smiles to the faces of these numerous rural customers that presently use our electricity for both high quality living and for productive uses.
The strength of our operation and maintenance lies our men and women of the field. From plant manager to the plant cleaner, we treat all our staff with equal respect, empathy and understanding.
In order to have a well maintain operation, we continually study the function of all parts of our power systems
We ensure that all our activities prioritizes gender balancing as can be seen with our lead female technical manager developing a custom part for power plant installation.
While we highly depend on American and Chinese made power products for our entire power supply systems; we occasionally lean back a bit as to employ those other technologies that can be efficiently made within a host country as to encourage technology innovations, transfers and development. This local production patronage help create extra jobs for the locals.
