Our partnership starts with the community we serve; the leadership, the people, the youths, the businesses and finally the institutions of our potential communities and this makes it possible for us to bring in our external partnership of mobile money providers and project promoters.


Gboanipea Biomass Electrification Project was initiated in the year 2020 in partnership with African Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF); the partnership never worked due to technical differences. In the year 2023, United States African Development Foundation (USADF) with a better understanding of the project and an ambition to advance African made technologies came to the rescue; and since then, has been supporting the project completion of which its commissioning would be announced any moment from now.

Gboanipea Biomass Electrification Project is presently ongoing in the rural township of Gboanipea, Tappita district of Nimba County, Liberia. This project will host a 100KWatts biomass/ solar hybrid power plant that will supply 350 rural Households, six mills, 5 shops and 10 streetlights.

The key highlight of this project is that the steam turbine that will drive the biomass part of this power plant in made in Liberia; therefore, giving HV WoodGas the advantage of both cost and size controls
